Save Money on Euro Car Travel
Do some research about European auto insurance before you take your car on holiday. Just because the UK is a member of the European Union doesn’t mean that you can assume your insurance will cover you. The fact of the matter is that there are differences in insurance laws in some EU member states, and if you should break down while you are there, then without euro breakdown cover you could find yourself with a whole lot of problems.
You should check the status of your insurance with your insurer before you go abroad. Breakdown insurance gives you roadside assistance if you break down out on the road. In most instances the insurer will make sure that your vehicle is returned to your home and that you, also, get there safely. It is all too easy to assume that because you have breakdown cover you are already covered when you are driving in Europe. If you do this without researching the terms of your breakdown cover then you could find yourself with no roadside assistance and a huge bill for getting your car and you back home.
If you want to save money on European travel then don’t assume that you are covered, check with your insurer as to whether or not you have Euro breakdown cover, as some policies do include it now – but don’t leave it to chance. It is bad enough breaking down in your own country but finding yourself on a European mountain road in the dead of night with no breakdown insurance is really not where you want to be. It is not expensive to extend your breakdown cover to include European breakdown, and if you do break down you’ll save a lot of extra costs and a whole load of other problems.
